Bio:
Beverly Haut, a native of Georgia now happily living in self-imposed exile in Southern California, is a Southern Belle with a sassy comedic attitude unlike any you’ve ever encountered. Smart, personable and insightful, her comedic takes on life and its little foibles has folks rolling in the aisles all over Southern California.
A professional writer even in high school (as a byline columnist for The Atlanta Journal-Constitution), Southern by birth, and sharp as a box of ten-penny nails, Beverly’s been funny all her life (her mother claims she popped out wearing a top hat, fishnets and heels, doing a pretty good version of “Puttin’ On the Ritz” for a newborn), but it wasn’t until her family forced her out of the house that she discovered the world of standup comedy.
Recently selected as a quarter-finalist in both the 2007 California’s Funniest Female Contest and the Ultimate Laff-Down XI (within two days of each other), Beverly’s greatest dream in life ~ to do one good set when it matters ~ has finally come true, and while she could easily move on to bigger and better things, she prefers to work in relative obscurity for the moment, or at least until the phone rings.
While Beverly’s been compared to comedy legends such as Roseanne and Brett Butler, she has her own distinctive voice that you won’t soon forget, one that will leave you laughing for days. Or at least for a few minutes.
Beverly also produces comedy showcases featuring some of the best and brightest new talent Southern California has to offer, playing host for her fellow comedians to packed rooms in and around Los Angeles and Orange County.
